Salisbury Sweeps Brookfield in Nonconference Doubleheader

Both Salisbury basketball teams defeated Brookfield in a nonconference doubleheader Thursday. The Salisbury girls won the first contest 49-32. Lady Panther junior Rachel Fessler hit four 3-pointers in the first quarter.

Eric Duick with the calls on 99.9 The Captain and centralmoinfo.com. Fessler finished with 20 points and six threes. Wade Billington’s Lady Panthers responded to a 2-0 deficit with an 8-0 run.

The 7-2 Lady Panthers led 31-15 at half. Lady Bulldog sophomore Ella Daugherity paced 1-9 Brookfield with eight points.

Salisbury’s boys opened with a 12-2 run en route to a 71-41 victory. Panthers head coach Kenny Wyatt reacted postgame.

Seniors Jackson King and Luke Abeln both scored 20 points for the 7-2 Panthers. Bulldogs acting head coach Joel Magnuson offered his takeaways after Brookfield dropped to 3-8.
