Salisbury Softball Aiming for Return Trip to State in 2023

Last season a young Salisbury softball team caught fire down the stretch and reached its sixth state semifinal since 2014. The Lady Panthers ultimately finished in fourth for 2022. Despite graduating three seniors from last year’s team the Lady Panthers are hungry for more state glory this season. Coach Nate King details some early strengths of his squad.
With the graduation of ace pitcher Jaden Howard, a new hurler will appear in the circle for the Lady Panthers this fall.
Key hitters returning for the Lady Panthers include Julia Sloan, Addie Wales and Camri Wekenborg. Last school year was a strong one for Salisbury athletics with the boys basketball and golf teams winning state titles while King’s softball and baseball teams also reached their respective state final fours. King says last year’s success is driving this year’s team.
The Salisbury softball team previously claimed state titles in 2001, 2002 and 2019. You can hear from Coach King and the rest of our area softball coaches on the Warm-Up Show on KRES on August 23rd. The show will air on KRES and centralmoinfo.com at 5:35 pm.
