Salisbury Overcomes Second Straight Fourth Quarter Deficit to Punch Quarterfinal Ticket

King would make the first, then intentionally miss the second to run the clock out. Panthers coach Kenny Wyatt said Salisbury ramped up the defensive intensity in the second half.

It is the second straight fourth quarter deficit Salisbury has overcome.

King finished with a game-high 24 points. The 21-2 Panthers held a 17-15 lead at the end of the first quarter. Lincoln hit five first half threes to hold a 35-26 lead at the half, but Salisbury’s defense held Lincoln to two threes, six field goals in the second half. Salisbury advances to the Class 2 quarterfinals for the first time since 2015 and face Wellsville Friday night, who beat Cairo 57-56 at the buzzer.
