Salisbury and Harrisburg to Battle for District Title in Baseball

The top-seeded Salisbury Panthers are set to face the third-seed Harrisburg Bulldogs for the Class 2 District 12 Championship Thursday night. The Panthers come into the contest with a 17-2 record and captured the Lewis & Clark Conference title. Salisbury coach Nate King says his young team’s accomplishments have been significant.

The Panthers feature only one senior on their roster. They’re seeking their first district title since 2009. Salisbury beat Harrisburg 4-3 in their regular season meeting. King says this matchup will have a much different feel.

Harrisburg comes into the district title game with a record of 9-12. However, the Bulldogs have looked impressive in district play with an opening-round 14-0 win over Fayette and a 5-2 victory against Westran in the semifinals. Harrisburg coach Chris Ackman says his team is hungry for another shot at Salisbury.

Ackman adds his team will need to be locked-in both offensively and defensively in order to be successful.

Harrisburg are looking to win their first district title since 2014. Colin Schowe will have the call on KRES 104.7 and centralmoinfo.com beginning with the pregame at 5:50 pm.
