SALIMA LEADS TRUMAN TO A 9 WIN SEASON WITH A CAREER DAY
Brad Boyer had the call on KRES and centralmoinfo.com. The Bulldogs also got three field goals from Josh Scheiderer and this touchdown pass that gave Jaden Barr a school record.
That gave Barr the Truman total offense record and he ended the day with 9,076 career yards. It was the 80th touchdown Barr has produced, extending his school record. Salima needed 188 yards to get to 1,000 and he finished with his second thousand yard season with 1,028. Salima’s 32 attempts pushed him into second place all-time with 808. Truman coach Gregg Nesbitt said his running back took his game to another level.
The win gave Nesbitt and the Bulldogs just the seventh 9-win season in program history and first since 1992.
At 9-2, Nesbitt and the Bulldogs now hope for a bowl bid invitation. Those will come after the NCAA playoff pairings are announced on Sunday.
