Brad Boyer with the call from Liberty on KRES and centralmoinfo.com. Salima rushed for 102 yards and had 173 all-purpose yards. The Independence native went over 3,000 career rushing yards and moved into fourth place on the Truman career all-purpose yardage list past Steve Powell.

The Bulldogs offense scored touchdowns on their first four possessions, including two short runs by Salima, a six-yard run by Cody Schrader and a four-yard TD pass from Jaden Barr to Jake Ellis. Then, the ‘Dogs defense got a score….

It was the fourth “pick 6” of the season for Truman. Coach Gregg Nesbitt’s offense was 6-for-6 in red zone scoring and have put points on the board on 25 straight trips to the red zone….

Jaden Barr threw for 217 yards. Sam Reeves led the defense with two-and-a-half sacks and seven tackles. The senior leads all active Division 2 players with 36 career sacks. Tanner Lain of Kirksville had his first career sack and Ben Thomas of Blair Oaks picked off his second pass of the season.

The Bulldogs improve to 7-1 overall and 4-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference trailing 5-0 Indianapolis and 4-0 Lindenwood. Truman senior day will be next Saturday against McKendree. You can hear the game on KRES starting at 11:10. The loss was the seventh straight for William Jewell.
