Route 240 Bridge Over Salt Creek in Howard County to Remain Closed for Several Weeks

The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced that repairs to the Route 240 bridge over Salt Creek, south of Fayette will require the bridge to be closed for several weeks. Last Thursday MoDOT bridge inspectors discovered deterioration on the nearly 90-year-old bridge, requiring its closure while further inspection and repairs could take place. Crews have begun to stabilize and reinforce the areas of concern on the bridge. Work involves encasing the deteriorating portions in concrete. This will require the bridge to stay closed for up to five weeks. For more information on the bridge repairs contact MoDOT at 1-888-275-6636.
