Representative Louis Riggs’ broadband package passed last week. It protects rural broadband funding that has been designated for use in Missouri and extends the sunset for the state broadband fund to 2027. Riggs shares the next step.

Riggs represents Shelby, Marion, and Monroe Counties.

The package also extended the 5G sunset to 2025, and it enables development districts.

Riggs noted the bill’s progress before the pandemic struck played a critical role in its success when the session resumed.
