RFA Showcases Hybrid SUV Converted To Use E-85

White says the converted engine is burning ethanol at a greater efficiency, allowing more miles per gallon.

White adds that the combination allows a greater range than fully electric vehicles.  He says demonstrating the technology’s effectiveness, combined with policies encouraging greater production and use of ethanol blends, should encourage auto companies to increase the number of flex-fuel vehicles on the road.

The Renewable Fuels Association’s flex-fuel hybrid vehicle was on display at last week’s Commodity Classic in Orlando.
