Representative Taylor Working on Gygr Gas Legislation

Shortly before the December cold snap in Missouri, approximately six-thousand customers of the Boonville-based Gygr Gas Company learned they were dealing with dwindling propane levels as the company had ceased operations. Governor Mike Parson acted by issuing an executive order allowing other gas companies to fill up Gygr propane tanks. Representative Tim Taylor of Bunceton says this is still a wide-ranging issue.

Parson’s executive order overrode previous state statute that prevented gas companies from filling tanks of other companies. Taylor says he and Senator Caleb Rowden are in the early planning stages of filing legislation to further address this statute.

Parson’s executive order providing relief for Gygr Gas customers runs through the end of January.
