Representative Taylor Supports Senate’s I-70 Expansion Proposal

Each chamber of the Missouri Legislature has a proposal for expanding I-70 to three lanes each way. The House of Representatives is following the governor’s plan to widen the interstate at chokepoints in Columbia, St. Louis and Kansas City. The Senate’s proposal expands I-70 between Blue Springs and Wentzville. Representative Tim Taylor of Bunceton says he likes the Senate’s plan.

Governor Mike Parson had initially called for 859 million dollars to expand I-70. The Senate’s plan would designate 1.4 billion dollars in state funding and borrow another 1.4 billion dollars to fully expand it.

The Senate will review the House’s proposed budget this week, which includes their proposal for I-70.
