Missouri Governor Mike Parson recently signed the Wayfair Online Tax bill into law. The new law will allow the state and local governments to collect a use tax from online retailers that sell and deliver more than 100,000 dollars in material goods to consumers in the state annually. Representative Cheri Toalson Reisch of Hallsville says this is good news for brick and mortar stores in the state.

Missouri is the final state to implement such a law. Toalson Reisch says there was one particular driving force that allowed the wayfair tax to pass the legislation this year.

The online tax collections for the new law will begin January 1st, 2023.
