Truman’s Sam Reeves has been named one of eight finalists for the Gene Upshaw Division II Lineman of the Year Award. The award is presented by the Manheim Touchdown Club and voted on by the nation’s NCAA Division II sports information directors. The winner will be announced on December 4th. The award recipient has an invitation to participate in front of professional scouts and coaches at the East-West Shrine Game in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Reeves was named to his fourth, all-Great Lakes Valley Conference first team becoming just the fifth Truman player to earn first team all-league honors four times in a career. He is the active leader across all three NCAA Divisions in quarterback sacks with 40.5 and will rank in the top 10 all-time in Division II when his career is completed.

Reeves is also first in DII in career tackles for loss, fourth in sack yards and third in tackles for loss yardage. This season, Reeves led the GLVC with 9.5 quarterback sacks and was second in tackles for loss with 13.
