Senator Cindy O’Laughlin says red flag legislation will be considered this week in committee. The Shelbina Republican says it will not be approved in the Senate.

O’Laughlin says her stance on the Second Amendment is clear.

According to a bill summary on the Missouri Senate website, the measure, in part, “creates a firearms restraining order which prohibits the custody, purchasing, possessing, or receiving of firearms by a person believed to pose a danger of causing injury to himself, herself, or another by use of a weapon.” Senate Bill 543 is in the Transportation, Infrastructure and Public Safety Committee.
