The Randolph County Old Settlers Reunion gets underway today in downtown Huntsville and runs through Saturday. President of the Randolph County Old Settlers, Abby Meyer, says this event is about recognizing the area’s past.

The Old Settlers meeting, lunch, and award presentations run from 11 to 1 today. Saturday will feature a variety of activities, including historical hayrides from 10 am to 4 pm.

The hayrides cost five dollars and will start at the corner of West Depot and Main Street in Huntsville. Carnival rides will also be available beginning at 4 pm each day. Meyer says COVID-19 actually opened the opportunity for them to secure carnival rides for this year.

Other events and activities at the Randolph County Old Settlers Reunion include a car cruise, glow run, baby show, a 3-on-3 basketball tournament, and a demolition derby at Sutliff Stadium.
