The Randolph County Commission has signed a contract with Grain Belt/Invenergy as part of the company’s transmission line project. Presiding Commissioner Sid Conklin explained how it got to this point.
Conklin said Randolph County had through April to accept the contract or negotiate a different deal. The two sides and attorneys met and Conklin said the Commission countered with another proposal.
Randolph County Presiding Commissioner Sid Conklin said they also negotiated within the contract that if any other county got a better deal, then Grain Belt would come back and give Randolph County the same amount.
