Randolph County Commission Monitoring State Legislation

The Randolph County Commission is monitoring several bills. Presiding Commissioner Sid Conklin says one of those clarifies Senate Bill 190 which would provide a property tax freeze for seniors.

Counties currently have a choice on whether or not to implement the senior tax freeze. Conklin says another bill they’re monitoring deals with solar projects.

Another element of the legislation has to do with the limit of tillable acreage to be used for green energy projects. Conklin will attend legislative days in Jefferson City Monday and Tuesday to discuss these bills with state legislators.
