The Randolph County Commission Wednesday unanimously approved a resolution authorizing the issuance and sale of $4.28 million of lease refunding certificates for refinancing the courthouse. Net interest savings from the plan are about $161,000. Presiding Commissioner John Truesdell said the plan involves accelerating principal payments from 2021 through 2026 with the bulk of savings coming in 2027 – the final year of the original lease that funded the construction, equipping and furnishing of the new courthouse.
