An off-duty Randolph County Sheriff’s deputy assisted the management of the Moberly Wal-Mart on Friday night when he observed employees attempting to stop a man who was seen fleeing from the store with stolen property in his possession.  According to the Moberly Police Department, around 7 pm, Christopher Rehm ran across Highway 24 behind Break-time Convenience store before Moberly Police officers and Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers were able to take the suspect into custody. During the investigation, officers reviewed video surveillance and recovered the stolen merchandise before forwarding the information to the Randolph County Prosecutor’s office for review.  It was also discovered that Rehm was on parole for burglary and stealing with two prior incidents and had been banned from entering the store. On Saturday, a warrant was issued by the courts for burglary in the first degree for Randolph County resident, Christopher Rehm with a cash-only bond set at fifty thousand dollars.
