Radio A Lifelong Calling For Max Armstrong

A longtime farm voice heard across the nation including on Regional Radio concluded his career last week after nearly a half-century on the air.  Max Armstrong, who hosted Midwest Digest and This Week In Agribusiness, recently stepped aside from those programs to begin his retirement.  He says he always had a calling to jump behind the microphone and broadcast to farmers.

After graduating from Purdue and spending two years with Illinois Farm Bureau, Armstrong landed his dream job in Chicago, forming a decades-long partnership at WGN with farm broadcasting legend Orion Samuelson.

While Max Armstrong has retired from broadcasting, he’ll still be present at several farm shows this summer, including the Half Century of Progress antique tractor show and Farm Progress Show, both in Illinois this August.
