A 36-year-old Quincy, Illinois woman is in custody, following a fatal crash Friday afternoon that left four people, including three Kirksville children dead.

According to the Quincy Police, just before 5 Friday, a vehicle driven by Natasha McBride was westbound on Broadway driving at an apparent high rate of speed. Police say McBride did not stop at the stoplight and struck a vehicle driven by 61-year-old Stephen Hendricks of Rushville, Illinois, who was northbound on 4th Street. Stephen Hendricks suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Blessing Hospital. Passengers in his vehicle, 54-year-old Jennifer Hendricks, of Rushville, along with a four-year old from Kirksville were pronounced dead on scene. A six-year-old passenger from Kirksville was pronounced dead at Blessing Hospital, and an 18-month-old passenger also from Kirksville was pronounced dead at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.

Authorities say McBride fled the scene on foot and was later arrested on the Bayview Bridge. McBride was arrested for aggravated DUI, leaving the scene of an accident with fatalities, driving with a revoked license, and reckless homicide.
