PROGRESS MADE ON MONROE CITY AG BUILDING PROJECT
About two months ago a groundbreaking ceremony was held in Monroe City for the school district’s new agriculture building. Monroe City Superintendent Dr. Tracy Bottoms says since then, the construction process has moved along nicely.

Crews have performed a good deal of dirt work at the site so far and steel for the building has arrived on site. Bottoms says once the building is completed it will be a significant upgrade from the current one.

The new agriculture building is the first phase of the Monroe City School District building project. Once the building is operational, work will begin on construction of a new cafeteria and elementary school. The project is being funded by the 43-cent tax increase bond issue passed by district voters in April.
