While the precipitation should end late Saturday afternoon, cold weather is set to arrive, according to Ray Christensen, a Meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill. Christensen says the initial band of snow is expected to move in around the noon hour.

With some freezing precipitation having fallen already, and snow coming on top of that, Christensen says Sunday morning could be slick.

Temperatures overnight and into Sunday morning, could fall to close to 15 degrees. This is all part of a system that also prompted tornado warnings to be issued in southwest Missouri Friday evening, and also dropped almost two and a half inches of rain on Columbia and Jefferson City.
