Post Portal-New Look Truman Bulldogs Start The Season In Ohio

After a third straight appearance in the NCAA Tournament, Truman lost three starters to the Division 1 level through the transfer portal. All-American Cade McKnight and sharpshooter Masen Miller went to Indiana State, and Eric Northweather landed at Drake. Jeff Horner enters his 5th season leading the Bulldogs and is looking forward to watching this new mix develop….

Two of the incoming transfers played high school ball in the Clarence Cannon Conference. C.E. Talton of Monroe City played his last three years at Olney Central JUCO….

Horner also brought in Brandon Kracht of Clark County, who played two seasons at John Wood Community College….

Horner expects an incoming freshman and another transfer to make an impact…..

Truman coach Jeff Horner, whose most experienced returners are Elijah Hazekamp, Hunter Strait, and Dylan Peeters. Trey Shearer, who cracked the starting lineup midseason before breaking a collarbone, also returns. The Bulldogs went 20-10 last season, for their eighth 20-win season in the last nine years.

Truman will start the season this weekend in Cedarville, Ohio, at the GLVC/GMAC Crossover Challenge. The Bulldogs will play Cedarville on Friday night and Findlay on Saturday.
