Peacocks Blitz The Bulldogs

Upper Iowa hit 16 three-pointers to blitz 2nd ranked Truman State 103-77 this afternoon (Sat.) in Fayette, Iowa. Joe Smoldt connected on seven from distance and scored 29 points to lead the Peacocks to their 6th straight win to start the season. Leading 34-26, Upper Iowa scored 18 in a row to blow the game open and lead 57-31 at halftime. Bulldog coach Jeff Horner discussed the defensive letdown…..

Cade McKnight led Truman with 17 points and Sam Lock scored his first career Bulldog points with 14. It was the second loss of the week after climbing to number two in the D2 poll. Coach Horner said they need to hit the reset button heading into the start of conference play….

Horner and the 4-2 Bulldogs host Missouri-St. Louis on Thursday night in a doubleheader that can be heard on KRES.
