PDMP Heads to the Governor

By a 91-64 vote, the Missouri House has approved the prescription drug monitoring program legislation and sent it to the governor. The measure has been championed by now state Senator Holly Rehder from Sikeston. Senator Denny Hoskins opposed the bill.

The bill creates a statewide drug monitoring program.

State Representative Ed Lewis from Moberly was one of the no votes.

Missouri Chamber President and CEO Dan Mehan says this is a big step forward for Missouri, and that having a statewide PDMP will help physicians and pharmacists identify patients who pill shop, and help stop the abuse that impacts so many Missouri families and workplaces.
