Patsy Jo Pettey, 84, of Vandalia, passed away Monday, April 29, 2024, at her home.

Patsy was born February 11, 1940, in Center, Missouri to Leo and Phyllis Grace (Hammon) Clark. She was united in marriage to Elbert Jennings in 1954. She later married Kenneth Wayne Pettey on December 17, 2005. He survives.

Also surviving are children: Patricia (Tom) Caldwell of Frankford, LaRita Jennings of Farber, Sarah Pettey of the state of Washington, and Lora (Harrel) Parks of Bonne Terre, Missouri; step-children, Keith Pettey of Holt Summitt, Kevin (Peggy) Pettey of Curryville, and Barbara (Glenn) Gregory of Mexico; eleven grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Collette of Vandalia; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, David Jennings and Della Newsom; and a step-daughter, Sheryl Taylor.

Patsy grew up in Center, Missouri and attended Center High School. At age 14, Patsy married. Six children were born to this union. When her youngest child started 1st grade, Patsy obtained her GED. She went on to obtain her LPN certification at Hannibal LaGrange College, graduating at the top of her class. Patsy worked for Tri-County Care for over 30 years as an LPN, retiring in 2014.

Patsy enjoyed gardening both flowers and vegetables, sewing, knitting and crocheting, cooking, and making candy. She loved watching the birds outside her home. She also enjoyed going to the springs in Eminence, Missouri.

The family will host a Celebration of Life on Sunday, May 12th from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at her home, 613 E. Park St., Vandalia, Missouri. Cremation rites are under the direction of Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory of Bowling Green.
