In his daily news briefing Wednesday while the coronavirus pandemic continues, Missouri Governor Mike Parson revealed why he requested a statewide disaster declaration.

Parson goes into detail what Missouri hopes to get in relief from with the declaration.

Parson also encouraged the farmers, ranchers, agricultural businesses, and grocery stores to remain open while the pandemic continues. Missouri Department of Agriculture Director Chris Chinn says farmers are working around the clock to provide food.

There has also been questions when legislators could return to the Capitol to approve a supplemental budget. Parson shed some light on where that stands.

The state has more than 350 confirmed cases of coronavirus.
