Parson Explains Ag Tax Credit Veto, Imminent Call For Special Session

Missouri Governor Mike Parson spent part of Thursday’s ham breakfast at the Missouri State Fair to explain his decision to veto a measure that would have extended ag-related tax credits.  Calling the veto a difficult decision, Parson said the bill presented to him treated agriculture differently than other industries.

Parson said placing a two-year sunset on the programs would make them ineffective.

Governor Mike Parson has called a news conference for Monday afternoon, where he is expected to formally call lawmakers back for a special session.
