Paris Hosts Madison in Rivalry Showdown

Paris hosts Madison in their annual doubleheader showdown. The Lady Coyotes will be looking to build confidence as they’ve lost nine of their last ten games. Paris has struggled to score points with their season-high coming in a 59-45 defeat to Fayette on December 20th. Coach Garrett Thomas analyzes their offensive issues.

Reese Sutton leads the Lady Coyotes with 11.3 points-per-game. Paris has won five straight against the Lady Panthers. Madison comes in with a 2-11 record. Both wins for the Lady Panthers came in their home tournament two weeks ago. Thomas says both teams will be shaking off the rust from last week.

The Paris boys enter the matchup with a 3-11 record. Two of those victories have come against Marceline. The Coyotes feature just three seniors on this year’s team. Coach Jeremy Skinner says he’s looking for improvement from his young squad.

Colton Kendrick leads the Coyotes with 10.5 points-per-game. Madison’s lone win came against Breckenridge on December 7th. Skinner says they can’t take anything for granted against the Panthers.

Coach Cory Riley is in his third season at Madison. This is his first year coaching both the girls and boys varsity teams. Coverage from Paris High School begins Tuesday at 5:45 on Superstation KRES and Colin Schowe will have the play-by-play.
