The Paris girls and Milan boys will look to book a spot in next weekend’s Show-Me Showdown in Springfield, as they compete in Class 2 Quarterfinal action at MACC Saturday afternoon.

The 17-11 Paris Lady Coyotes will be seeking their second Final Four trip in school history when they face Tipton. The Lady Coyotes defeated Scotland County 47-37 Wednesday to reach the quarterfinals. Paris was led in the game by Tori Hamilton who poured in 30 points in the victory. Paris coach Garrett Thomas says the Lady Cardinals and their lethal three-point shooters will pose a challenge for his team.

Tipton brings a 24-5 Tipton is led by Columbia College commit Abby Backes, who averages 23.8 points per game. The Lady Cardinals have hit a total of 233 three-pointers this season and shoot 35 percent from beyond the arc as a team. Tipton is coming off a 70-56 victory over Eugene in Wednesday’s sectional.

The Milan Wildcats are back in the Class 2 quarterfinals for the second time in three years. They’ll be facing a 20-6 Eugene team who knocked off fifth-ranked New Franklin 70-64 in overtime Wednesday night. Coach Andrea Dabney scouts the Eagles.
