A familiar face is returning to the Schuyler County bench this fall. Kyle Windy has been named the boys basketball coach of the Rams. Windy guided the Rams for 13 years before stepping down in 2010 to take the high school’s principal job. The veteran coach is excited to get back on the sidelines.

When he took over the program in 1997, Windy inherited a team which went 4-66 in a three year span. He eventually steered the Rams to a 27-2 record and their latest district title in his final season. This time, he inherits a group which went 9-65 the past three years.

The timing worked out well for Windy. He will also get an opportunity to coach his kids.

Windy will remain as the high school principal as well. He replaces Chase Roberts, who coached Schuyler County for two years. You can hear more from new Schuyler County boys basketball coach Kyle Windy on the Chariton Valley Magic City Sports Talk page.
