One Killed, Three Hurt in Lake of the Ozarks Accident

A Sunrise Beach woman was killed, and three people were hurt, in a boating accident at the 24 mile marker of the main channel at the Lake of the Ozarks. The State Highway Patrol says the boat, operated by 60-year-old Bobby Childers of Sunrise Beach, was operating too close to a dock around 7:40 Saturday night, when it hit a wake and then the breakwater. 44-year-old Nicolette McKenna was pronounced dead at the scene about an hour later. Childers had moderate injuries. 49-year-old Curtis Wilkie and 21-year-old Connor Wilkie, both of Kansas City, had minor injuries. Those three were taken to Osage Beach, and Childers was arrested for boating while intoxicated and careless and imprudent operation.
