Shots fired early this morning (Saturday) in downtown Columbia injured one person. The Columbia Police Department is investigating the incident which occurred at 12:40 in the area of South 8th Street and Locust Street. When officers arrived they learned one victim, a 38-year-old male, had been shot, but had left the scene. It was determined the victim was taken in a personal vehicle to a local emergency room with non-life threatening injuries before police and emergency medical services arrived. No other injuries were reported.
