A Moberly woman is dead, and three other Moberly residents suffered moderate injuries, following an accident that closed Route M for almost three hours. The accident was around a half mile east of Highway 63 at 12:50 Thursday afternoon. The State Highway Patrol says 22-year-old Maya Stilwell was a passenger in a car traveling east on Route M, when a car driven by 47-year-old Steven L. Garrett traveled into the eastbound lane and hit the car she was in, head on. Stilwell was pronounced dead at the scene about 40 minutes later. The driver of her car, 23-year-old Conar Maylee, another passenger, a two-year-old girl were both taken to Columbia. Garrett was booked for two counts- felony murder second degree and DWI. He was released due to injuries.
