Line crews from several hometown utilities volunteered to help restore power in Hannibal and Monroe City Saturday following the ice storms that rolled through the area on New Years Day. Line crews from Columbia Water & Light, Harrisonville, Macon Municipal Utilities and Rolla Municipal Utilities assisted the Hannibal Board of Public Works. The response included 17 lineworkers and 11 utility work vehicles. Four lineworkers from Higginsville made repairs in Monroe City before moving on to also assist in the Hannibal restoration effort. As of midday Saturday, about 500 customers remained without power.
