North Shelby Seeks Repeats in Rematches With Scotland County

North Shelby hosts Scotland County in their final home games of the season Tuesday night. The Lady Raiders defeated the Lady Tigers 64-28 two weeks ago at the La Plata Tournament. They come into the matchup with a record of 21-3 on the season and ranked fourth in Class 1. North Shelby girls coach Chris Parsons says they can’t take anything for granted against Scotland County.

The Lady Tigers of Coach Cory Shultz entered this season having won over 20 games in each of the past three seasons. However, losses to graduation have seen Scotland County take a dip in performance with a record sitting just below the .500 mark.

On the boys side, North Shelby also handled Scotland County at the La Plata Tournament 63-47. The Raiders only held a one-point lead at halftime before breaking it open in the second half. North Shelby boys coach Cody Stoneburner says he’s looking for a better effort from his defense in the rematch.

Scotland County secured their second Lewis and Clark Conference win on Friday when they beat Paris 66-59. Scotland County boys coach Jeremy Austin says his team will need to handle the Raiders’ press better this time around.
