New SCN-Resistant Trait Discovered By MU Researchers

Checkoff-funded research at the University of Missouri has discovered a new genetic trait that can help soybeans fight off soybean cyst nematode.  Dr Eric Oseland, director of agronomy and research with Missouri Soybeans, says the trait was discovered alongside researchers from the University of Georgia.

Oseland says the trait will make its way to store shelves in the next two years.

Missouri Soybeans director of agronomy and research Dr Eric Oseland says additional tools to resist soybean cyst nematode are needed, as the pest is increasingly adapting to the PI-88788 trait that has been the main line of resistance for over 20 years.
