Mark Twain’s Austin Leake is continuing his transition as the new Tiger football coach. Three months into the job, Leake says things are going smooth.
The Mark Twain alum spent the last six years at Bowling Green as an assistant coach, and was their offensive coordinator last year. Leake says having the opportunity to coach at his home was something he couldn’t pass up.
Bowling Green’s offense averaged nearly 37 points a game in Leake’s one year as offensive coordinator. Leake says he learned a lot under coach Joe Chinn in that one year.
Leake replaced Moberly native Karl Asbury, who remains on staff as the head baseball coach.
