New Franklin Chief of Police Announces Resignation

After 5 years of serving as the New Franklin Police Chief, Mike Wise announced his upcoming resignation to members of the city council during the January meeting on Monday night. According to a post on the department’s Facebook page, Wise indicated several specific challenges the City of New Franklin has faced over the past two years, including city water issues, reduction of insurance and benefits for city employees, financial issues and the lay off of a full time officer, back in April of last year. Wise indicated he has accepted an employment offer, pending the completion of a background check, he also thanked all of the residents and fellow council members for support and considers many of them as personal friends. No specifics were indicated on his last day or future plans in searching for a replacement.
