NEW FRANKLIN BOYS CROSS COUNTRY TEAM TO RUN AT STATE MEET
November 5, 2019 6:00PM CST

Last weekend the New Franklin Boys Cross Country team claimed their first ever district title by putting up a team score of 38 points at the district meet at the Pike County Fairgrounds. Tyler Perkins, Sam Ridgeway, and Asa Fischer led the way for the Bulldogs finishing fourth, fifth, and sixth respectively. New Franklin coach Madi Lyons says pack-running paid off big for the team at districts.
The district title means the New Franklin Boys Cross Country team qualified as a team for the Class 1 state meet at the brand-new Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia. Lyons says the team is looking forward to running on the new course.
With a district title secured New Franklin will seek bigger hardware Saturday in Columbia. Lyons feels the team’s competitiveness will serve them well.
The Class 1 Boys Championship meet will kickoff Saturday’s activities at 9 am at the Missouri High School Cross Country Championships.
