Construction is underway on the pavilion that will replace the director’s tent at the Missouri State Fair. Director Mark Wolfe says a series of storms last year, which took out another tent, highlight the importance of building a more durable and permanent structure to host the Governor’s Ham Breakfast.

Wolfe adds that the structure will be available for rent the rest of the year, generating more revenue for the fair. He notes its potential use by the Sedalia Farmers Market, which normally lines the drive west from the Centennial Gate twice a week.

Nucor Steel has donated the materials for the new director’s pavilion on the Missouri State Fairgrounds.
