Myrline Medina Bates, 90, of Bowling Green, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Evelyn’s House in Creve Coeur, Missouri.

Memorial services for Myrline will be held Wednesday, December 4th at 6:00 p.m. at Bibb-Veach Funeral Homes and Crematory with Fr. Henry Ussher officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 4th from 5:00 p.m. until the time of services.

Myrline was born July 14, 1934, in Slocumb, Alabama.

Myrline grew up in Georgia and Alabama. She met her first husband, Antonio Medina Jr., while he was stationed at Ft. Benning shortly after WWII. They married and moved to Tucson, Arizona, where their first son was born, then to Oxnard, California where their next child was born. The family later relocated to Taiwan, Monterey, California, Harbor City, California, Panama, and Texas, where Antonio retired. The family then moved back to California. Antonio passed away March 10, 1972. Myrline married Frank Bates on October 24, 1981. He passed away on June 10, 1985. Myrline moved to Missouri in 1988 to be close to her grandchildren.

Myrline was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church. She liked to go out dancing and make trips to the casinos in Las Vegas and Missouri. Myrline enjoyed sewing, quilting, and crafting; and loved to teach the grandchildren to sew. She loved having the grandchildren and great-grandchildren around, and often served them fish sticks.

Myrline is survived by sons, Joe Medina of Houston, Texas, John F. Medina (Phylis) of Mexico, Missouri; daughter, Michele Aubuchon (Matthew) of Moscow Mills, Missouri; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William Frank Moss and Mary Jane King Moss; both husbands; children, Tony Medina and Sheila Kallash; grandson, AJ Medina; and ten siblings.
