Two St. Louis Cardinals players tested positive for COVID-19, forcing the postponement of Friday’s game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Cardinals’ President of Baseball Operations, John Mozeliak says the positive tests resulted in multiple tests for everyone with the team.

Each member of the Cardinals’ traveling party was subject to a saliva test through Major League Baseball and a rapid test from the local hospital in Milwaukee. While Friday’s game is now scheduled as part of a doubleheader for Sunday, Saturday’s game is still currently scheduled to be played at Miller Park. Mozeliak explains what has to happen in order for that game to be played.

In the wake of the positive tests, the Cardinals’ main focus has been on contact tracing.

At this time the Cardinals are scheduled to resume play Saturday against the Milwaukee Brewers. Pregame coverage on KRES 104.7 is scheduled for 5:15 pm.
