More Minor Downgrades In Missouri’s Drought Monitor

Two areas of Missouri experienced downgrades in the weekly update to the US Drought Monitor. Kansas City’s Northland joined the rest of Clay and Platte counties in abnormal dryness, while areas along the Gasconade River in southern Gasconade, eastern Maries, southeastern Osage, and northern Phelps counties entered moderate drought. 54.6 percent of Missouri is in some stage of drought, up 0.6 points from last week. Areas in extreme drought remain unchanged on 10.7 percent, as well as severe drought at 16.4 percent. Abnormal dryness continues to cover 24.6 percent of Missouri.
