Monroe City’s C.E. Talton Talks Truman Basketball Signing

Former Monroe City standout C.E. Talton signed with Truman State basketball in April.

Talton played three seasons for Olney Central Junior College in Illinois. The guard reflects on the additional COVID season at Olney Central.

Talton averaged 11 points and 2.5 assists as a third-year starter. The Monroe City native has two years of eligibility. Talton discusses the opportunity to compete for Truman coach Jeff Horner.

Talton notes Horner also played guard and starred for Iowa in the Big Ten.

The 2019 Monroe City graduate earned three KRES All-Star selections, two All-State honors, and two Clarence Cannon Conference Player of the Year awards. Talton reveals his expectations at Truman.

Talton’s younger twin brothers Joshua and Josiah signed with John Wood Community College basketball last month.

C.E. Talton shot 46 percent from three at Olney Central last season. Talton says he plans to study exercise science at Truman.
