Monroe City finalized its girls basketball hire Friday. Adam Rung will lead the Lady Panthers after 10 years as the Clark County boys coach. Rung replaces Cody Leonard, who resigned after a nine-year run. Leonard remains Monroe City’s athletic director. The Lady Panthers boast 20-plus wins in five of the last six seasons. Rung’s Clark County boys won three straight Clarence Cannon Conference titles before Monroe City’s current streak of three championships. Rung’s 2016 Indians captured the program’s first district title since 1994.
