Last month, the Monroe City City Council gave final approval on a deal with the Clarence Cannnon Water Commission to be the city’s water utility contractor. Monroe City Mayor Jerry Potterfield says they’ve since begun moving forward with an engineering study.

The study would look mainly at cost parameters. Potterfield details the city’s next step following the completion of the study in the next couple of months.

In all, the project is expected to take up to three years to complete. The next Monroe City City Council meeting is scheduled for January 21st.
