MONROE CITY MAYOR SHARES NEXT STEPS BEFORE NEW SEWER PLANT

Monroe City voters approved the city’s request to issue $7.7 million dollars in bonds to improve the sewer system. Monroe City Mayor John Long explains how the city will proceed with a new plant after 87% voted in favor.
The bond issue required a two-thirds majority. The Monroe City mayor says the current plant is about 15 years past its life expectancy, and major upgrades were required for DNR compliance.
