The Monroe City School Board has approved the hiring of a new superintendent. Outgoing Monroe City School Superintendent Dr. Tracy Bottoms says the new Superintendent is Tony DeGrave.

DeGrave graduated from Monroe City and spent ten years as a special ed teacher, as well as seven years as the head football coach for the Panthers. He is finishing his second year as the Van-Far Superintendent. Bottoms explains his role in the hiring process.

It was announced last month that Bottoms will be leaving the district to take over as the Superintendent of the Montgomery County School District.
